International Visitors
Why is travel health insurance
necessary?
Some buy visitor to Canada health insurance to satisfy Canadian visa
application requirements but the great majority of our visitor customers
purchase such coverage because they are fully aware of the potential risks
if they don't have it. Canada's universal health care is not available to
people on visitor or short-term (less than 12 months) student and work
visa. Since medical services offered to these short-term visa holders are
not paid for by our universal medical care system, the government does not
set the fees charged by Canadian doctors and hospitals. So it is
misconception that medical care in Canada is free or cheap, it is not to
people who are not insured by our government health insurance plan. For
example, a day in intensive care at a major Canadian hospital can easily
set you back $3,000 to $5,000.
Amateur Sports
Our visitor to Canada health insurance not only covers emergency sickness
but also injuries, even if the injuries are the result of amateur sports
activities. Thinking of skiing or white water rafting? Then contact us for
your insurance needs. We have the lowest rates for young amateur athletes.
